In complex sales, your buyer champions need the right materials at the right time. Seismic helps organize and distribute your content—and Minoa’s integration makes it easy to export business cases directly into your Seismic workspaces. With this integration, you can share professionally formatted business cases as PDFs or PowerPoints, store them in the right workspace folders, and keep them updated as deals evolve. No more manual uploads or version control headaches.

How It Works

The Seismic integration follows a two-step setup process:
  1. Admin Setup — An admin connects your organization’s Seismic account in Settings
  2. User Authentication — Each user authenticates their personal Seismic account when exporting for the first time
Once set up, anyone on your team can export business cases to Seismic with just a few clicks from the business case page.
Why two steps? Seismic authenticates at the user level, not the organization level. This means each person exports to their own Seismic workspaces with the appropriate permissions they have in Seismic.

Setting Up Seismic (Admin)

Prerequisites

  • You must be a Minoa admin to set up the integration
  • You need your Seismic Tenant ID (this is your organization’s unique identifier in Seismic)

Connect Seismic to Your Organization

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find the Seismic Integration section
  3. Click Connect Seismic
  4. Enter your Seismic Tenant ID when prompted
  5. Click Continue — you’ll be redirected to Seismic to authorize the connection
  6. Sign in to Seismic and approve the OAuth request
  7. You’ll be redirected back to Minoa with the integration active
Integration connected! All users in your organization can now authenticate and export to Seismic.
Find your Seismic Tenant ID in your Seismic URL. It usually appears as https://auth.seismic.com/tenants/ {your - tenant - id} or in your Seismic admin settings.

Managing Integration Settings

Once connected, admins can configure:
  • Default export format — Choose PDF or PPTX as the default format
  • User access — View which users have authenticated with Seismic
  • Remove integration — Disconnect Seismic if needed
To edit settings:
  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click the edit icon (pencil) next to the active Seismic integration
  3. Update your preferences
  4. Click Save

Authenticating Your Seismic Account (Users)

Before you can export, you need to connect your personal Seismic account.

First-Time Export

  1. Open any business case
  2. Click the Seismic icon in the business case header (next to the Share button)
  3. Click Connect Seismic in the export modal
  4. Sign in to Seismic to authorize your account
  5. You’ll be redirected back to the business case — ready to export
You only need to authenticate once. After that, you can export to Seismic anytime.

Exporting Business Cases to Seismic

Locate the Seismic Export Button

The Seismic export button appears in the business case header, next to the Share button. It’s a purple icon with the Seismic logo.
If you see a notification badge on the button, it means your business case has been updated since your last export. Click the button to sync the latest version.

Export Workflow

  1. Click the Seismic icon in the business case header
  2. Select your export format — PDF or PPTX (the default format is pre-selected)
  3. Navigate to a Seismic folder — browse your workspace folders to find the right location
  4. Click Export here to save the business case
Business case exported! It’s now available in the selected Seismic folder.

Choosing a Workspace Folder

When you open the export modal, you’ll see a folder browser showing your Seismic workspaces:
  • Navigate folders — Click any folder to open it and view subfolders
  • Go back — Click the back arrow to move up one level
  • Current location — The breadcrumb shows where you are in the folder structure
Can’t find a folder? Make sure you have the appropriate permissions in Seismic. The folder browser only shows workspaces and folders you have access to.

Updating vs. Creating New Files

If you’ve already exported this business case to the current folder, you’ll see two options:
  • Update existing file — Overwrites the previous version with the latest changes
  • Export new file — Creates a new copy alongside the existing one
Updating a file replaces it completely. If others have bookmarked or linked to the file in Seismic, the link will remain valid but the content will be updated.
If you’re exporting to a different folder, only the “Export here” option appears, and a new file is created.

Understanding Sync Behavior

Changes Do Not Auto-Sync

Unlike some integrations, Seismic exports are manual snapshots. When you update inputs, use cases, or any content in your business case, those changes do not automatically sync to Seismic. You must trigger a new export to update the file in Seismic.
Watch for the notification badge on the Seismic button. It appears whenever your business case has been modified since your last export, reminding you to re-export if needed.

Why Manual Exports?

Manual control gives you flexibility:
  • Control timing — Only share finalized versions with your team
  • Avoid interruptions — Don’t overwrite files while others are reviewing them
  • Version options — Create separate versions for different scenarios or audiences

Export Formats

You can export business cases in two formats:
FormatBest ForNotes
PDFFinal presentations, customer handouts, internal reviewsNon-editable, consistent formatting
PPTXCustomizable decks, team collaboration, slide editingFully editable PowerPoint file
The default format can be set by an admin in integration settings. Individual users can override this per export.
Use PPTX if your team customizes slides before sharing. Use PDF for locked-in, professional handouts.

Troubleshooting

”Seismic integration is not enabled”

Solution: Ask a Minoa admin to set up the integration in SettingsIntegrations.

”Log in with Seismic to export your business case”

Solution: Click Connect Seismic in the export modal to authenticate your personal account.

”Could not save business case to Seismic”

Possible causes:
  • Your Seismic session expired — Re-authenticate by clicking Connect Seismic again
  • Network or server issue — Try again in a few minutes
  • Missing folder permissions in Seismic — Verify you can access the target folder in Seismic directly

”Business case is not shared externally”

Solution: Seismic exports require the business case to be shared. Enable link sharing by clicking Share in the business case header and toggling link access on.

Changes aren’t reflected in Seismic

Solution: Changes don’t auto-sync. Trigger a new export by clicking the Seismic button and selecting Update existing file or creating a new export.

Best Practices

🎯 Export After Major Updates

Get in the habit of re-exporting after finalizing inputs, updating ROI calculations, or revising narratives.

📂 Organize by Deal Stage

Create folder structures in Seismic that mirror your sales process (e.g., “Discovery,” “Proposal,” “Negotiation”) and export business cases to the appropriate folder.

🔄 Use “Update Existing File” for Continuity

If you’ve shared a link to a Seismic file, use the update option instead of creating a new file. This keeps links valid and avoids clutter.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Standardize Export Formats Across Teams

Align with your sales team on whether to use PDF or PPTX. Consistency makes it easier for reps to find and use the right materials.

🔔 Watch for Notification Badges

The badge on the Seismic button tells you when your business case is out of sync. Trust it—re-export if you see it.
