The Minoa agent in Slack is in beta and available through early access. The permissions below cover the capabilities we are rolling out during the beta.

Overview

The Minoa agent answers questions about your deals, accounts, and business cases directly in Slack, so your team does not have to switch to the Minoa app to get an answer. Ask it for a value hypothesis, the proof points behind a number, or a read on where a deal stands. It runs on the same Minoa Slack app that sends notifications. A Slack admin installs it once from Settings > Integrations, and Slack shows the full list of permissions for approval before anything is granted.
Minoa agent or Slackbot? The Minoa agent is Minoa’s own assistant — you talk to it directly with @Minoa AI. Slackbot is Slack’s assistant, which can use Minoa as one of its sources. Both come with the same app and you can use either.

Where you can talk to it

In channels the agent only speaks up when someone mentions it. It will not join a conversation it was never invited into, and it does not reply to other bots. To stop it, react with 🔕 on its last reply to mute it in that thread, or press Stop while a reply is being written.

Who can use it

Only people who have a Minoa account can use the agent. Minoa connects the two accounts automatically by matching email addresses: if the email on someone’s Slack profile matches the email on their Minoa account, they can use the agent. Minoa rechecks this regularly, so when someone is removed from Minoa they also lose access to the agent. If someone without a Minoa account mentions the agent, it declines and points them to a Minoa admin. It does not answer their question or start following the thread. Admins can see how many people are connected, and refresh the list, under Settings > Integrations > Slack.

What it will not do

The agent is there for questions about deals, accounts, business cases, and value engineering. It turns down anything outside that. It also declines requests to reveal its own instructions or configuration, to explain how Minoa stores or protects data, or to reach another Minoa customer’s information. When that happens it replies with a short, fixed message instead of engaging, and it treats the rest of that conversation with extra care.

Permissions

Slack asks your admin to approve the whole list at once. There is no way to accept some permissions and decline others, and Minoa does not offer a reduced version of the app. Some permissions cover capabilities that are still rolling out during the beta. We ask for them up front so your workspace does not have to approve the app again each time one becomes available.

Sending messages

Talking with the agent

The agent only reads messages in conversations it has been invited to.

Using a channel as context

Searching covers public channels only. Private channels and direct messages are never searched. Slack only tells Minoa about shared links for the Minoa app’s own address, app.minoa.io.

Workspace

Admin controls

All of these are in Settings > Integrations > Slack:
If Slack grants fewer permissions than Minoa asked for — for example when your workspace requires admin approval for each one — some capabilities stay unavailable. An admin can fix this with Re-authenticate.

Data handling

Minoa keeps the agent’s conversations so it can follow a thread across several messages and so admins can review what the agent said. When a message is deleted or edited in Slack, Minoa stops using the original wording. Everything the Slack integration handles is covered by our Data Processing Agreement and Privacy Policy, including retention, deletion requests, and our commitment not to train models on your data.
